Pay what thou want

I'm excited to kick off the year with a new record. It's called Rootstock. So, in keeping with the times I want to offer it up to you with the new music model for digital release. Pay what you want or nothing at all. I just hope you rock it.

Established Jan. 1691

Hey everyone,
In November 2008 I made a trip home to southern Arizona. It was just before Thanksgiving and the weather was changing as it tends to do in the high desert. While there, I visited America's first Jesuit mission built in 1691 by Francisco Kino along with the help from native converts.
Amongst the old weathered Italian vines and fig trees that accompany the mission walls, I came across the pale molted skin of a rattle snake lying in some brush. No longer occupied, the speckled shell of the legless serpent silently crept from he slight wind that also pushed the clouds overhead.
I wrote Molting Skin the night of my return.

I'm pumped because there is nothing quite like playing music. I love it. I get into it, anything can happen, and if you were at this show you might have picked up on some technical difficulties I encountered while in the middle of Deep. My In Ear Monitors flew off rendering me useless until I could scramble them back onto my belt. You see, no matter how much practice you put into something, you never know that your belt is going to be the thing that fails you. Anyway, we (new band) have been holed up in a super secret location beating the hell out things until it sounds juuuust the way we like it. So come welcome the new crew and toss some grape juice around the bar with us as we premier some hot new little diddy's for you to bang your face to.

The Grey Matters Project featuring Malakai and Proximity Effect
Hello everyone,
My name is James Northcross with the band Proximity Effect. I am a music producer, musician, recording and live sound engineer living in Los Angeles. I grew up in an extremely small southern Arizona town bordering Mexico. Music was my savior and I will forever be indebted to it for my happiness.
